The most important thing for a cannabis social club is the air inlet and outlet of the premises. Many small CSCs often build it themselves and think that this is sufficient, however, a noticeable smell outside the premises is a reason for the police to carry out an inspection, which can cause many unwanted problems.
Here you can find the most important information about the market leader in the Canary Islands. FanCan Systems about what you need to consider and they will be happy to help you with your project.
Are you considering installing a ventilation system?
Trust FanCan Systems, a company that understands the specific needs of clubs and crops. Don't look for the lowest price, look for equipment that meets the conditions necessary for the job it will do.
Small Guide
Ventilation of premises goes beyond simply placing fans anywhere. We carry out detailed studies of the premises, taking measurements of areas, heights, humidity, identifying hot zones and optimising the route of ducts to minimise pressure losses.
"Do you want to know how to calculate a system accurately?
First, measure the room and determine how many square metres it is (side by side). Measure the height of the room and multiply it by the square metres; this will give you the volume in cubic metres (m3) - the amount of air you need to move."
EXTRACTION
A key aspect is the volume of the room in cubic metres. With this information, we determine the required load of the activated carbon filter and the power of the extraction box.
After calculating the pressure losses through the filters and ducts, the fan motor to be installed is selected. We always avoid the use of wooden boxes, as they increase the risk of fire. We also do not use flexible ducting, as this is not permitted on construction sites and does not provide a constant flow rate; it should only be used where it is absolutely impossible otherwise.
It is always recommended to choose energy efficient equipment, even if it is a bit more expensive, as it is more cost-effective in the long run, especially given the current electricity price situation. In addition, they should be low in decibels, as you do not want the equipment to be audible during continuous operation.
FanCan Systems equipment and ducting should be fixed to a solid ceiling, not to suspended ceilings or plasterboard, using fire resistant metal fixings. In addition, any motors or parts of the equipment that may generate vibrations are fixed with silentblocks or similar to prevent noise, secured to the solid ceiling. For fixing filters, we avoid using chains or similar objects; we use metal clamps of the filter diameter for greater reliability.
The installation of speed controllers is highly recommended to adjust the performance in times of inactivity in the premises, avoiding unwanted odour leakage to the outside and protecting the motors from possible power surges.
2.INTRACTION
Important factors to consider include the humidity of the room, the choice of machine type according to the indoor activity and the capacity by providing data on temperature and volume. In order to achieve adequate renovations, install an intraction system (supply of air into the room) together with the extraction. The air inlet should be smaller than the outlet to create a vacuum inside the room and prevent unfiltered air from escaping to the outside. A slight inward pressure should be felt at the access doors.
FanCan Systems' intraction systems have no pressure drop like extraction systems, as they are not fitted with activated carbon filters. Good air renewal is achieved by calculating the extraction output so that they are always balanced. Interactions should incorporate a particle filtration system type G4 filters for medium particle retention and type F7 for small particles. Consideration should be given to the location of the intraction system from the room inlet to the bottom, and the extraction to the bottom to create an airflow.
3.FILTRATION
The choice of filter is crucial and focuses on the quality of the activated carbon. At FanCan Systems, we advise against mineral carbons due to their lower porosity. Within coconut shell carbons, we recommend one that has been treated with impregnation for better air retention. Air velocity and pressure will determine how long the air remains in the reduced charcoal and are counterproductive to good filtration.
It is essential to install particulate filter boxes in the systems to filter the air, protect and prolong the durability of the activated carbon and the motors.
We highlight that we refill the filters with premium activated carbon, an eco-friendly option that reduces the environmental impact and is more economical for our customers. By refilling the activated carbon, we avoid discarding the old steel filter, sending it for recycling, and refill it with a new carbon, specially designed to retain molecules such as terpenes and isoprenes. We are committed to sustainable waste management on our island and believe this practice is essential.
After installation, all equipment requires maintenance. In general, particulate filters should be changed every 3 to 6 months, while activated carbon should be changed every 12 to 18 months. Good maintenance of FanCan Systems equipment is essential to ensure proper operation.
We also have several models of ozone generators for both air and water. Its application in extraction systems allows the elimination of residual odours, guaranteeing a higher efficiency than 99%.

4.AIR CONDITIONING
An air conditioning system in the room is very useful, not only because of the temperature, but also because it dehumidifies the environment and facilitates the transport of air by making it less dense, but they should not be placed near the extraction system so as not to affect its performance. An indoor air renewal system with air recuperators that filter the air and return it to the room is also recommended so as not to lose room temperature and not to affect the air-conditioning systems.
It is advisable to install air curtains at the entrances to the premises to prevent possible odours and temperature losses.
