Psychedelic Conference 2022 Fuerteventura

On November 19, the Fuerteventura Psychedelic Congress was held, bringing together experts in the field of psychedelic substances and their potential therapeutic applications.
The opening ceremony featured Magdalena Harmonia and was followed by a series of
presentations by prominent international professionals in the field.

One of the speakers was José Carlos Bouso (ICEERS), who spoke about the achievements and
challenges from the Renaissance to the Psychedelic Enlightenment.

Dóra Révész, the organizer along with other members of the Fuerteventura Psychedelic Society, addressed the topic of psychedelics and psychological factors during the Covid-19 lockdown. AntonGomez-Escolar introduced the Psiconauta Guide collection, while Marc Aixalá shared his experience as a psychedelic therapist.

Psychedelics and their therapeutic approach

Natalie Montoto Hausmann talked about psilocybin and its therapeutic approach, while Tre
Borrás Cabacés and Genis Oña presented their research on using ibogaine to break free
from methadone.

Classification, Law, Toxicity of psychedelic substances

Francisco Azorín discussed the past, present, and future of the international legality of psychedelic substances, and Lucas Fernández spoke about the
projects of the Scientific Psychedelic Association of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.

A Neuropsychotherapeutic perspective and the potential of Ayahuasca

Domingo J. Quintana and Gerardo Gonzalo also participated in the congress, discussing the effects of expanded states of consciousness with and without psychedelics from a Neuropsychotherapeutic perspective and the potential of ayahuasca assisted with meditation to improve social cognition, respectively. Finally, Luis Alberto Henríquez debated whether psychedelics challenge the foundations of toxicology and reviewed the risks and working
hypotheses in this field.

The Fuerteventura Psychedelic Congress was a unique opportunity to learn firsthand about the current state of knowledge about psychedelic substances and their potential therapeutic applications and to discuss the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead in a relaxed and warm atmosphere that welcomed all types of professionals and those interested in this revolution.
